This school was named for Reverend Olympia Brown, the first American woman to be ordained and champion of woman's suffrage, this school is located on a 26-acre site on the shore of Lake Michigan. The campus contains a field house, theater, music rooms, art room and multimedia library. This school was named for Stephen Bull, brother-in-law of Jerome I. Case and the first Vice-President of the J.I. Case Corporation. Fine Arts is an alternative education program established in 1975. First opened in 1914 as the Stephen Bull Elementary School, the facility has specialists in vocal and instrumental music, dance and movement education, visual arts, creative dramatics and library science.

This school was named for Nicholas D. Fratt who came to Racine in 1843 at the age of 18. He was the president of the Racine County Bank, which later was the First National Bank for over 50 years. He also was a politician from Racine who was a delegate to the Democratic National Convention in 1876 and a candidate for Wisconsin Governor in 1881. Built in 1916, Fratt is a neighborhood school in West Racine, home of many of Racine's Danish immigrants.

This school was named for William C. Giese, the first principal of Washington Park High School in 1928. Giese School, opened in 1965 and is situated on a 12-acre rolling site. Originally the school was named the Optional Elementary School. The name was changed because people thought it meant that attendance was options, not the choice in curriculum.

In 1877 Adolph Schulte and his brothers provided "music in the park" for Racine area residents. In 1923, brother Henry Schulte approached the Racine City Council and succeeded in getting an annual appropriation of funds to organize a "city band" and officially entertain the Racine citizenry. The name of that first ensemble, the Racine Park Board Band. Schulte School was built in 1967 on a 15-acre site in Sturtevant.

In 1907, Western Publishing was taken over by one of its creditors, a bookkeeper named E.H. Wadewitz. Wadewitz soon purchased a Chicago publishing company and set up Whitman Publishing Co. It would later gain fame as the publisher of Big Little Books and Golden Books for children. Wadewitz School was built in 1957 as a combined elementary and orthopedic school. Located in the north-central portion of the city, the school has 24 regular classrooms and eight classrooms equipped for orthopedically impaired students.

The students who wanted to emphasize the difference of their school selected Walden's name. Not wishing to use Thoreau's Walden or Skinner's Walden Two, the students chose Walden III. The choice, you may wish to know when the school was started in 1972, was between Walden III and Frank Zappa High School. The full name of the school is Walden III an Alternative Secondary School in Process of Discovery. Walden school is now in the old Franklin School building near the police department and city hall annex. The original part of the building was constructed in 1863. Walden III, a magnet school, draws a diverse student population.
