The Racine area which includes the communities of Racine, Caledonia,
Mount Pleasant, Sturtevant, Wind Point, North Bay, Elmwood Park,
Franksville and extreme eastern Raymond and Yorkville has over 80 parks.
These parks range from small community parks about 0.08 acre to large campgrounds and
bicycle trails up to 378 acres in size. Below is a list of Racine area parks and their addresses -
Note parks do not always have addresses so the closest address is listed
for use in computer mapping programs.

General John J. Pershing Park
700 Pershing Drive
On the shore of Lake Michigan this park offers spectacular views of the
lake and harbor. This park has many things to offer: A lighted regulation football
field with bleachers (Pershing Field), skateboard park, lavatories, concessions, picnic
tables, public boat launch with car/trailer parking and shore fishing.
Offers a great view of the Fourth of July Fireworks.

Peterson Park
300 Water Street
A great place to get away from the city right in down town. Offering
wonderful views of the Root River and State Street Bridge, you can also
see The Racine County Courthouse and the J. I. Case Building.

Pierce Woods

Wonderful wooded park that features children's play equipment, rain
shelter, lavatories and picnic tables.

Pritchard Park
2800 Ohio Street
Offering two reservable picnic areas; picnic shelters with electricity,
water and lavatories; picnic tables and grills; two baseball diamonds; a
regulation soccer field; children's play area and historical monuments.

Pugh Lakefront Area
11 Reichart Court
On the lake this park is tucked away behind the Pugh Marina and offers
views of the Harbor, Racine Yacht Club, North Pier and the old Racine
Coast Guard Station. Offers a great view of the Fourth of July Fireworks.
Quarry Lake Park
3501 Northwestern Avenue
A Mecca for scuba divers! a great place for swimmers looking for spring
fed water. Sunbathers love the expansive multi-level terraced beach. Once
a limestone quarry, this park has been transformed into one of the finest
outdoor swimming and beach facility in the Midwest. Quarry Lake park
features an 18 acre lake that's deep, crystal clear and ideal for
swimming, scuba diving and fishing. The park also offers picnic areas with
grills, a large air-conditioned beach house with changing rooms, lockers, concessions,
lavatories and showers. Scuba divers must be certified and pay a
registration fee to enter and explore the depths of the Quarry Lake. A
daily entrance fee is charged during the swimming season.

Racine Harbor Park
1 Christopher Columbus Causeway
This 16 acre park is located at the end of Christopher Columbus Causeway
and is literally located in Lake Michigan with easy access from downtown
Racine. This park features an observation deck offering great views of the
lake and the city's skyline. The park also features a fish cleaning
station, parking for 192 cars. The breakwater and floating docks provide
excellent shore fishing. The administration building for the 921 slip
marina is located in harbor park this facility houses the Sheriff's
Department Water Safety patrol, a restaurant, a boutique and rest rooms.
If accessible (this site is often closed during the fireworks) this site
offers a great view of the Fourth of July Fireworks.
Racine County Oppertunity Center (RCOC) Park

Featuring children's play equipment and a Baseball diamond.
Racine - Sturtevant Bicycle Trail
1700 West Boulevard (Start Point)
This trail begins at 19th Street and West Boulevard in Racine where it
links with the North Shore Trail and continues Westward to Willow Road in
Sturtevant. You may wish to follow the marked connection to Prichard Park
along the route. Licensed Dogs allowed on 6 foot leash - Owner is responsible
for waste removal. This trail connects with the North Shore Bicycle Trail and the Root River Pathway at Oak Park.
Racine Zoological Gardens
200 Goold Street
One of the few remaining free zoos. Its annual Safari Days in July is a fund-raiser for zoo upkeep. The zoo pond is said to be the site of one of the old Racine brickyards.
The zoo is open every day except Christmas Day.
Summer Visiting Hours (Memorial Day to Labor Day) are 9:00am - 8:30pm.
Winter Hours (Labor Day through Memorial Day) are 9:00am - 4:30pm
