Racine Wisconsin Area Parks

The Racine area which includes the communities of Racine, Caledonia, Mount Pleasant, Sturtevant, Wind Point, North Bay, Elmwood Park, Franksville and extreme eastern Raymond and Yorkville has over 80 parks. These parks range from small community parks about  0.08 acre to large campgrounds and bicycle trails up to 378 acres in size. Below is a list of Racine area parks and their addresses - Note parks do not always have addresses so the closest address is listed for use in computer mapping programs.


Humble Park
2300 Blaine Avenue
This large park has much to offer. 3 lighted baseball diamonds, 2 lighted tennis courts, 2 basketball courts, 1 soccer field, 1 football field,  community center with indoor courts, lavatories, concessions and children's play equipment.

Island Park
1 Horlick Drive
Surrounded by the root river, this park offers two baseball diamonds rain shelters, picnic tables and bank shore fishing. This park is part of the Root River Pathway.

Ives Grove Golf Links 
14101 Washington Avenue - Sturtevant
This challenging 18-hole championship golf course designed by David Gill and built in 1970 is located 1/4 mile west of I-94 on the south side of State Highway 20. The course features watered bent grass greens, tees and fairways; two practice putting greens; and a practice golf range. Water comes into play on seven holes, requiring strategic shot making and placing a premium on accuracy.

Herbert F. Johnson Park Golf Course
6200 Northwestern Avenue
Along the Root River, this park consists of both a public 18-hole golf course built in 1931and a first rate park that has been host to concerts and community gatherings. With reservable picnic areas, rain shelters, pond, trails, dog run, and children's play equipment Johnson Park is sure to be fun for every member of the family.

Captain Gilbert Knapp Park
1751 Michigan Boulevard
Captain Gilbert Knapp was a lake-boat skipper in the early 19th century. in 1834 he sailed up the mouth of the root river and founded Port Gilbert, which is now the city of Racine. This Park offers spectacular views of Lake Michigan, the Harbor, North Pier and North Beach. Historical Marker.  Offers a great view of the Fourth of July Fireworks.

Lake Park

A small neighborhood park right on Lake Michigan featuring children's play equipment.

Lakeview Park
201 Goold Street
Tennis Courts, Children's Play Equipment and a Community Center all add to this park. Located across Gould Street from the Racine Zoological Gardens. Good place to view the Fourth of July Parade.

Lincoln Park
2701 Dominick Drive 
Root River access, 1 Baseball Diamond and the Root River Steelhead Facility - Dedicated in 1993 to insure the continued success of the Lake Michigan trout and salmon fishery. From Spring Street, turn into Lincoln Park on Dominick Drive and follow with Wisconsin DNR signs to the facility. This park is part of the Root River Pathway.
