The city has a total area of 18.7 square miles (48.4 km2), of which, 15.5 square miles (40.2 km2) of it is land and 3.1 square miles (8.1 km2) of it (16.76%) is water.
The annual average temperature is 47.2°F (8.4°C) With 20.5°F (-6.4°C) in January and 71.5°F (22°C)in July.
The average annual precipitation is 35.3 inches (90 cm).
