LEF Corporation of Grand Rapids, Michigan has announced that it h will start ferry service to St. Joseph, Michigan; Chicago, Illinois and Racine in early June, 2003.
The ferry will carry only passengers. It will dock on the Root River just east of the Main Street bridge where tall ships have moored in the past. The city must now modify the railings along the river and provide bollards to attach the ship's mooring lines. A car ferry is being planned for next year. |

Lake Ferry runs will begin soon after the LEF Corporation's 1999 Catalina Jet arrives -possibly as soon as the last week in May.
The Racine trolleys will also add a stop at the dock east of the Main Street bridge at the Root River. |

| It appears Racine will have to wait a little longer for lake ferry service. |
