2:30P-7:30P Root River Paddle Island Park Root River Paddle from Island Park to the Racine Harbor followed by a spaghetti dinner and music at the Racine Yacht Club. The cost is $5 per person to register for the paddle and $9 per person for the dinner. A limited number of watercraft will be available for free, or paddlers may drop off their own vessels, park at the yacht club and catch a shuttle ride back to the park. rootpikewin.org. 9A RACINEkids Spirit Walk/Run Kids Cove This is a recreational event, not a race. Participants are encouraged to travel at a distance and pace that is appropriate for their fitness level. The walk/run will start at the Kids Cove area at Racine’s North Beach. Participants will travel along the Root River Bike Trail. The RACINEkids Spirit Walk/Run was created to help schools and organizations build a sense of community, pride and spirit while raising much-needed funds. Ten percent of the proceeds will benefit the Racine PTA Council, the other 90 percent goes to the participating organization. www.RACINEkids.org

10:30A-3:30P Car, Van & Motorcycle Show & Chicken BBQ Racine County Fairgrounds The Union Grove Lions Club will hold their 32nd Annual Chicken BBQ with a vintage car, van and motorcycle show. Proceeds will go to different community service programs. Spectator admission is free. Chicken Dinner (tickets purchased in advance): adults $8.50, children 12 and under $6. Ticket prices at the door are an additional 50 cents. Advance tickets are available from Lions Club members and in Union Grove at Grove Insurance, Aurora Pharmacy, Al's Piggly Wiggly and Union Grove Lumber. The afternoon will also include Union Grove Kiwanis Cow Pie bingo at noon, Union Grove Lioness bake sale and quilt raffle at 10:30 a.m., free hay rides by the Lyle Fox family all day, Dale Erdmann's Spinnin' Gold DJ Service and free popcorn. Used eyeglasses and hearing aids will be collected. Registration for the car and motorcycle show begins at 8 a.m. The cost to register a car is $7 in advance or $10 the day of the show. Historically, this rare alignment is how we measured the size of our solar system. 8A Fourth Fest Parade Racine, WI Midwest's largest July 4th Parade and the third largest in the United States. Racine has been named as one of the Top 10 places to celebrate the 4th of July by USA Today. Featuring live replicas of national monuments as a salute to our veterans. The parade starts at the intersections of Goold and Main Streets and runs south down Main Street through Downtown then turns west on 14th Street. Be sure to arrive early to get a curbside seat as people are expected to begin lining up along the parade route as early as 5:00 AM on July 4th, 2012.

8P Fourth Fest Fireworks Racine Lakefront The fireworks can be viewed anywhere along the shores of Lake Michigan in Racine. The 40-minute fireworks exhibition begin at dusk.

7A-12N Ironman 70.3 Racine North Beach Ironman 70.3 Racine features a swim course that takes place on Lake Michigan's pristine lakefront, followed by a bike ride on the Modine Manufacturing Bike Course in the scenic countryside of Racine County and a run on the All Saints Run Course through Racine's quaint, historic neighborhoods. The weekend of Ironman 70.3, Racine County will be hosting other events for spectators to enjoy -- before and after the race. Free for spectators.
